October 2018 Color Curate unboxing

Finally, I am up to the current month in my subscription boxes! Yay! Color Curate had the earliest delivery date ever since I subscribed. It is my most recent subscription box that is hosted (?) by So Susan. For $20.95 per month, they will send four full-sized beauty items plus a limited edition makeup bag. This subscription box had me hooked on “full size”. It is difficult to find an affordable makeup subscription that has full sized items and fits in a budget. This specific box caught my attention by having a colorful selection and a reward point system as well as a store on the website. It seems a bit pricey for only four products but the selection seems to make up for the price. Color Curate prides itself on sending out items that are 100% cruelty-free. As far as I have researched there is no variation between individual bags for a specific month.

On to the items!

This month’s bag reminded me of cherries when I first glanced at it. The design is watercolor leaves and red kind of a fruit. The quote is very inspiring. It is one that can be interpreted in many different ways depending on the situation.

1. Trifle Cosmetics Pavlova palette

I half expected this palette to be an eyeshadow one. I was happy to find out that it was one with bronzer, blush, and highlighter shades. For my skin tone, I could use three of the shades as a bronzer, two as a highlight, and one I can use as a blush shade.

2. Trifle Cosmetics Eye Candy in “Fudge”

The pairing of these shades is right in my tastes. The green shade may be a little less intense than  I expected, but it has a lovely shimmer. I am confused as to the name. Instead of “Fudge” these shades give me more of a “Pistachio” vibe. This was also listed as a bonus item.

3. So Susan Dream Maker in “Trance”

I am super excited to get a creme highlighter. The tip of this tube is very thin and precise. It blends out to a wonderful golden glow.

4. Jelly Pong Pong Lip Patine in “Trinity”

I love when lip products are shaped into crayon looking shapes. It shows that makeup never has to be serious and that there is a kid in all of us. The shade is a very playful one as well. It is a deeper pink with metallic shimmer. The formula is very moisturizing and it has a long-lasting time as well

So let’s get to the overview!

The selection of this subscription has been amazing so far. The items feel like they are high quality, and the best part is that they are 100% cruelty-free. The items have a decently steep price if bought one by one, so I am glad that for a fraction of the price I am able to own these.

  • Trifle Cosmetics Pavlova palette – $32
  • Trifle Cosmetics Eye Candy in “Fudge” – $14
  • So Susan Dream Maker in “Trance” – $29
  • Jelly Pong Pong Lip Patine in “Trinity” – $22

The total value of October’s bag is $109. Even though the brand selection is not a very wide one, it is amazing to get a taste of full items from each one. Other than a having an eyeshadow pan fall out of the container, I have not had any problems and all the items have been amazing. So far I plan on renewing my subscription for another 3 months.
