October 2018 Boxycharm unboxing

My favorite box of the month – Boxycharm! It is a monthly beauty subscription where for 21$ they send 5-6 FULL-SIZE makeup and skin care items, as well as tools such as brushes. Boxes have a set theme, but some of the products may vary based on a beauty profile filed by the subscriber. Value of the box has always been over 100$ ever since I started subscribing. There is a discount for a longer commitment at 3, 6, and 12 months. In my opinion, it is highly worth it.

On to the items!

The theme for this month is Alter Ego, which is so very fitting for the season. While everyone is dressing up as something else, Boxycharm decided to supply what is needed to bring out the self that is deep within. The items for this month were selected to prep, ready, and clear the face.

1. Dermovia Lace A Peel Black Bamboo Charcoal Peel Off Mask

When I first saw the plastic pouch I got excited. Any type of mask is welcome as an addition to my skin care routine. Once I opened this 2-pack to test one out I was a little confused. Judging by the name, I thought the mask would have a cute lace pattern The mask was one of those peel off charcoal masks and the lace part went right over it. Neat!

2. PUR Midnight Masquerade face palette

Face pallets are the way to go, especially when they also include eyeshadows. The colors on the face side of the palette were leaning towards warmer tones, while the metallic eyeshadows had a pop of cool tones between them. Overall, these shades are great for creating many different and bold looks.

3. IT Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara

I did not even have to open this mascara to know that I like it. A while back I received it as a sample and wanted to get myself a full sized version. Now I don’t have to!

4. Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in shade Hawkwind

I am a strong believer that with right look, any shade of lipstick and be pulled off. Some of them are harder, while others seem more universal. This one seemed like it called for a very specific look. Just recently, I cleaned out my lippie drawer so there is plenty of space for more.

5. Farmacy Beauty Green Clean cleansing balm

Finally, the cleansing balm. The smell of lemongrass was so energizing. The texture seemed to be little oily to the touch, but once it was applied on the face it dissolved into a thin veil of makeup remover. The balm was very moisturizing and it left my skin feeling soft and very clean. I did notice that right on the packaging it said that this product was made exclusively for Boxycharm.

So let’s get to the overview!

This is only one of many variations of the box. The selection may not be as wide as the one of Ipsy Glam Bag, but it has full sized items and the products are always amazing. This months box is already sold out and to subscribe to Boxycharm there is a waiting list. I don’t know about other subscribers but when I subscribed I got the following month’s box. To someone who is on a budget and a makeup addict subscription boxes are the way to go.

  • Dermovia Lace A Peel Black Bamboo Charcoal Peel Off Mask – $30
  • PUR Midnight Masquerade face palette – $38
  • IT Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara – $24
  • Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in shade Hawkwind – $20
  • Farmacy Beauty Green Clean clensing balm – $22

These bring the value of this month’s box to a total of $134. This is such an amazing number to see, especially when the price of the subscription was so low in comparison. This month’s box was created to bring out the self that has been hiding and waiting for the right moment to come out. All of the items are a great representation of what this season has to offer. Prepping your face? Be extra about it! Doing your makeup? Go above and beyond! All done? Feel like you deserve a pampering. This box really did cover all aspects.
